- Sam worked to get the City of Cambridge to develop a prioritized list of opportunities for open space protection throughout the city. This helped bring about the recent purchase of land that protects Cambridge’s drinking water supply.
- Sam has worked with the mid-Cambridge Neighborhood Association to require that the city respond to neighborhood concerns about the Main Library expansion project.
- Sam supports the High School Extension Program that gives students a second chance at completing their high school education. The program takes place at the Longfellow School, in his neighborhood.
